Tech tutorials, howtos and walkthroughs

Curiously too, the demand for the Apple iPhone 5S in all its golden beauty continues unabated beating the Apple iPhone 5C three to one since it went on sale in the US of A on Friday September 20th 2013 aka Christmas day for Apple iPhone aficionados according to Analyst Localytics, who published their stats over the Apple Sales Weekend aka Christmas for Apple Fans.

In fact, the Apple iPhone has seen 20 million activations and now accounts for 2% of all active Apple iPhones across the United States of America, again based on Localytics stats purloined from online activation figures between Friday, September 20th to Thursday, September 26th 2013!

The activations can be broken down as thus, showing that since sales till now, the predominant favourite has been the Golden Boot Apple iPhone 5S FIFA World Cup Style vs the poly-carbonate Apple iPhone 5C:

  1. More than 80% of AT&T and Verizon subscribers preferred the Apple iPhone 5S.

  2. 46% of Sprint subscribers preferred the Apple iPhone 5C

  3. 40% of T-Mobile subscribers preferred the Apple iPhone 5C

Clearly Americans like their Apple iPhones metallic and are willing to stand in lines that may not artificially created but reflect genuine interest in the Colour Gold, especially as World Cup 2014 is in Brazil, right in America’s Back yard! So there you have it folks; Gold is hot as I’d declared in Apple’s Golden Dragon iPhone 5S and C for Caring iPhone 5C may be coming on Tuesday September 10th 2013. Both with Chinese, Japanese and regular Americans!

Apple iPhone Shortages – Grand Design for Global Market Dominance Revealed

Which brings me to Orient or Far East, where in China and Japan, there are acute supply shortages. These supply issues are most likely due to production difficulties associated with making the Apple iPhone 5S and Apple iPhone 5C. Rather unfortunate, as they are affecting the comeback plans of NTT DoCoMo against its competitors Softbank and KDDI, already benefitting from the Apple iPhone love since 2008.

The tale of the tape tells the effect of the shortage since September 2013:

  1. NTT DoCoMo has lost 66,800 subscribers

  2. SoftBank gained 270,700 new subscribers

  3. KDDI gained 232,700 new subscribers

But it’s apparently not a shortage of supply. Rather, it appears to be a part of Apple’s Master Plan to expand their sales to some additional countries. This based on the ruminations of Piper Jaffry analyst Gene Munster.

If he’s right, this correlates with comments by LIME Jamaica that suggest that Jamaicans may be getting a bite of the Apple iPhone 5S and the Apple iPhone 5C by November 2013 based on this Apple Press Release  entitled “iPhone 5s & iPhone 5c Arrive in Italy, Russia, Spain & More Than 25 Countries on Friday, October 25!

The price for the Apple iPhone 5S and Apple iPhone 5C unlocked will not be competitive with Samsung Galaxy smartphones, which has more variety and cheaper prices. Apple may do poly-carbonate (read “plastic from the Apple iPhone 3GS”) but they don’t do “junk phones” to quote CEO Tim Cook; there’s plenty of that already in the market.

Thus the wariness of customers in adopting the poly-carbonate Apple iPhone 5C will wear off and may catch on with the more upscale Millennial (ages 18 to 28) market, who may like the stylish colours on a very pricy smartphone that offer bigger value and not just a bigger screen.

In fact, search traffic from Google Trends indicates that Teenagers (ages 13 to 17), Millennials (18 to 28) and Generation X (ages 29 to 45) have Samsung and Blackberry on the Brain. Google Trends lists the following smartphones searches from Jamaica on a scale of 1 to 100 searches as an indication of smartphones of interest among Jamaicans in September 2012:

  1. 73 for Blackberry

  2. 27 for Google Android

  3. 31 for the Apple iPhone

It’s now September 2013, and oh how the Trends have changed:

  1. 90 for Samsung

  2. 80 for Blackberry

  3. 68 for the Apple iPhone

This Gadget buying in Jamaica will be focused on the Samsung Galaxy with Apple having to struggle due to pricing challenges. Blackberry’s are now a steal of a deal now that blackberry has gone bust as reported in Blackberry sold to Fairfax Financial Holdings Limited as BBM goes free.

Even so, in Jamaican dollars, an high end unlocked Samsung Galaxy smartphone e.g. the Samsung Galaxy S4 is still as pricey as the Apple iPhone. So the trend will still be towards lower cost Dual-SIM Smartphones this Christmas 2013 as predicted in Trend towards Dual-SIM Smartphones developing in Jamaica as MNP Approaches, many of which you can swear for and read up on Geezam!
